2 New Citizens at Owl Feather Farm

It’s been a busy few days at Owl Feather Farm, on Saturday, we came home with Blue, our 10-week-old Weimaraner puppy. He’s a total doll and is extremely happy to come live at the farm (and hunt up shoes for his nest on the couch).

Here he is wondering pitifully why he can’t have my morning cereal. We’ve informed him he won’t be able to sleep on our shoulders when he is a full-grown 70-pound boy.

Cocoa, our miniature horse, is a rescue from the mainland who arrived Tuesday. Cocoa has had 3 homes in the past year, and can’t believe he gets his own stall now… he’s lived outside his whole life. Here he is being supervised by Cereus, who is still boss animal #1 around here. We tell them they are both handsome; stretching the truth a bit. It took just one day for Cocoa to decide Cereus is his big brother–and Cereus to decide he is Cocoa’s guardian.

Like all animals, what they want most is love and attention… and hay and hamburger.
