    Eric Lucas is a lifelong journalist and correspondent for Michelin Travel Guides, Alaska Airlines Beyond magazine, Westways, World Nomads, the Los Angeles Times, MSN.com, National Geographic Traveler, and many other outlets. His work concentrates on the meaning of travel and human culture, with special emphasis on sustainability and indigenous peoples. He is the retired Associate Editor at Alaska Airlines Magazine and was the founding editor of Midwest Airlines Magazine.

    Eric is the author of six Michelin guides, including Michelin Alaska, Michelin Hawai’i and Michelin British Columbia/Alberta Rockies. He is the co-author of numerous other Michelin guides, including Western Canada and Yellowstone National Park. He has also been the editor of a health magazine; an editorial page editor at a Gannett newspaper; and has won more than 50 writing and editing prizes.

    Eric has visited all 50 US states and 60 foreign countries, including 42 in Europe. His favorite country is Sweden, and he favors Steinbeck and Beethoven over Hemingway and Mozart.
